The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced lead carpenter/leading hand to join our team; The role works with our GM to set out site schedules; and on tools with the team to meet it. A results focused individual, who enjoys driving results on unique projects, with experience in supervising tradesmen will be succesful in this role.

Reporting to the General Manager, this role will suit someone looking to further refine their already outstanding skills leading a team on high-end projects where timing and quality is key. If you can’t do a fix to perfection this job is not for you.

You will use BuilderTrend to update daily logs, time sheets, and changes to schedule while overseeing projects, contractors and apprentices.

About You

Skills and experience;

Trade Management - Leadership skills, outstanding communication skills who can positively and proactively lead trades on-site. Do you have a proven track record leading contractors on-site?
Materials Management - Proven track record reading and interpreting complex architectural plans and specifications.
Ability to complete material take-offs and process orders, as needed
Task Management - creating to-do lists, multi-tasking and working to strict deadlines for yourself and others.
Ability to follow detailed instructions
Understanding and awareness of safety standards
Carpentry Experience - A minimum of 6 years' experience as a qualified carpenter, able to lead and motivate a team of experienced carpenters
Carpentry Skills - Highly skilled at all aspects of carpentry - If you can’t do a fix to perfection this job is not for you.
Honest Reliable and Presentable
Must have full driver's licence, White Card, Carpenter's Licence and Permanent Residency
