The property development team is responsible for delivering development projects that help to realise the company’s vision. The team significantly contributes to the company goal of making places that matter, and as an Assistant Development Manager or Development Manager you will play a key role in the company, delivering development projects across multiple regions and ensuring buildings are delivered on schedule, to a high design standard and within budget. You will report to an Associate Director.


The role is based in Melbourne but will involve occasional travel to Sydney.


About the role:

  • Prepare detailed feasibilities for new developments.
  • Acquisition – Feasibility preparation, market research, development cost forecasting & programming.
  • Project Brief Preparation – Preparing detailed project briefs for consulting with design teams, financiers and government agencies.
  • Managing and coordinating internal team members and external design consultants.
  • Preparing detailed consultant scopes and agreements.
  • Identifying, interviewing and negotiating consultant appointments.
  • Town Planning – Preparing, lodging, monitoring of Town Planning Applications.
  • Design Development & Delivery – Appointing and managing the full consultant team, monitoring development budget, program and cashflow, reviewing documentation and assisting with documentation feedback;
  • Interior Design, Marketing & Advertising – Preparing marketing collateral, programs and budgets to assist development team and internal marketing team;
  • Sales – Engage and manage external sales agents, preparation and management of contract of sale, plan of subdivision, respond to agent queries, management of purchaser changes and general purchaser and relations;
  • Settlement – Liaise with purchasers in the lead up to settlement and post completion, assist with valuations, general off the plan sales enquiries and monitoring any defect rectification post-settlement;
  • Meticulously maintain all project documentation – attend meetings, prepare minutes, agendas, contracts, drawings, project plans and feasibilities;
  • Prepare documents required for bank and project financing, working closely with the finance team, and;
  • Ultimately assist with all development processes related to the project.


The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate;


  • Bachelor’s degree in property, construction management, architecture, engineering, interior design or any other field relevant to property development.
  • Experience as a Graduate Development Manager or Assistant Development Manager is preferable.
  • 3+ years industry experience is preferable.
  • Understanding across all aspects of leasing, sales, marketing and design.
  • Must understand property finance & construction.
  • Must have strong interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Professionally presented, strong communicator with attention to detail, excellent written skills.
  • Keen interest in property, architecture and design with an enthusiasm to learn and grow in the role.
  • Strong proficiency across Excel, Word and Project.
