HSEQ Officer

The successful candidate will find themselves joining a very friendly and charismatic team of professionals and tradesmen, all of whom work side by side and as a one unit team.

Reporting to the National HSEQ Advisor, you will be working on one of two projects each exceeding $100M, and will oversee all safety, environmental and quality activities on the project.

Your duties will include:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory requirements.
• Ensure Maxcon’s safety requirements are adhered to at all times.
• Induct all new workers (Maxcon and contractors) to the project.
• Review contractor documentation to ensure compliance.
• Investigate all incidents and report to the National HSEQ Advisor.
• Conduct risk assessments, HSE audits and inspections.
• Implement safety procedures according to company requirements
• Custodian of Maxcon’s permit to work system.
• Work on safety improvement initiatives.
• Quality compliance 
• Co-ordinate Safety Committee / Tool Box Meetings.
• Promote a positive Safety Culture in line with Maxcon’s vision.

The successful candidate would have as a minimum;

• 5 years’ experience in high rise construction ($50M +).
• Construction Induction (White Card).
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety / Occupational Health and Safety.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Intermediate / advance computer literacy with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Able to operate autonomously.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• First aid certificate
