Contract Administrator / Estimator

Building and Labour Pty Ltd is an internal fit-out company specialising in Plaster and Carpentry Packages for renowned builders. 
 
Our focus is on the commercial sector and our work ranges from base building refurbishments through to high-end fit-outs. 
 
We are located in the eastern suburbs,however, our projects are anywhere in Melbourne. You will not find us on search engines as we do not advertise for business. Instead, we strive to deliver an exceptionally high level of service and quality in which work is obtained based on reputation and word of mouth.
 
 
Due to sustained business growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated contract administrator to join our small and friendly team. It is a full-time position in which you will be assisting the project manager with day to day operations of running multiple fit-out projects.
 
This position involves:
 
- Communication with suppliers, subcontractors, site team, clients and industry professionals
- Assisting the site team as required
- Coordinating works 
- Reviewing drawings and schedules
- Obtaining quotes and ordering materials
- Ensuring adherence to project construction programmes
- Resolving issues (tracking and monitoring variations, issuing RFI's)
- Document control, record keeping and filing
- Estimating, compiling and submitting tenders
 
 
This position will suit a junior candidate who has had some experience with undertaking contract administration works to fit out companies. It is an ideal opportunity to hone in and improve on existing skills. Alternatively, this position will also suit a contract administrator with several years of experience who will thrive with only needing to focus on the internal plastering and carpentry trade.  

The ideal candidate will have:
 
- Construction related degree/ diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience with estimating
 -Ability to thoroughly read architectural drawings, plans and schedules
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
- Ability to follow instructions and take initiative when required
- Positive can-do attitude
- Willingness to keep learning and growing
- Knowledge with Bluebeam software (preferable)
- Be content with working within a close-knit small company
