The company has a large network of subcontractors, suppliers and consultants, that can be relied on to help provide the innovative construction solutions required to meet project commitments.

Due to an increase in workload and overall growth in our business, Merkon has a unique opportunity for a qualified carpenter to join our team. This challending role provides the right candidate with an opportunity to join a successful tier 3 business and work with an experienced team of construction professionals across a wide variety of projects in multiple sectors. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Pro-actively resolve on-site building problems and make informed decisions as and when required.
• General carpentry including internal fix, wall and floor framing, AFS, installation of door/door harware, etc.
• Commitment to Merkon's Occupational Health & Safety principles and practices.
• Working along side Merkon's existing team of experienced carpenters and site managers to delivery timely, high-quality results.

Salary offer subject to level of experience.

Skills and experience required to succeed in this role:

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in carpentry, with 5+ years minimum experience (post qualification);
• Medium to top end building experience preferred;
• Trade qualification in carpentry;
• Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, strong ethics, and willingness to help;
• Vehicle, drivers licence, and tools of the trade;
• A clear understanding of OHS&E obligations within the building industry; and
• Experience in managing and mentoring apprentices will be highly regarded.
• Valid Construction White Card and Australian Drivers Licence
